To follow up on my drawing post, I loaded a scrap piece of chalkboard stock onto my CNC. I changed the tool to a trim router with a 1/8″ milling bit.
The process started with Google Image Search. I found a quality black and white image and converted it to the SVG format using Inkscape. I also removed excess vectors and smoothed some of the shapes. I opened the SVG with Estlcam ( www.estlcam.de) and assigned the CAM components. The depth of the cut is 1/8″ in a single pass @ 118 inches per minute. My next attempt will be with a finer bit so I do not lose details in the image.
